Dark Souls 3 Remastered is in Development – Rumor

Launched in 2016 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, the acclaimed Souls-like is allegedly getting the remaster treatment at some point.

Amid fans demanding a Bloodborne remaster/remake for years, another FromSoftware title could be getting a glow-up. On The XboxEra Podcast, Nick Baker reported that a remaster of Dark Souls 3 is allegedly in the works. Though there is other information, Baker is “not allowed to pass that on.”

The news isn’t too surprising, considering that the original Dark Souls received remaster in 2018, courtesy of QLOC. Dark Souls 3 launched in 2016 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC and hasn’t received any current-gen upgrades. It can run at 60 FPS on PS5 while upscaling from 1080p to 4K and 900p/60 FPS and Xbox Series X.

If a remaster is coming, it would be a way to introduce native 4K and higher frame rates for the title on current-gen platforms. Take things with a grain of salt for now, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility.
