Dark Souls Director Doesn’t Believe Twitch Player Actually Managed To Complete Game Without Taking A Hit

'I think it's just an elaborate rumor!'

Dark Souls 3 is coming up, and director Hidetaka Miyazaki has been talking about it to the press. However, in an interview with Wired, Miyazaki discussed some other things about the Souls games- specifically, he discussed the community, and all the amazing things that it has done, the amazing ways that it has managed to play Dark Souls in ways that even he could not have envisioned.

“Some of the stuff the community has done, collaborating on Twitch, or playing with Guitar Hero controllers, is incredible though,” Miyazaki said. “I’ve been very happy to see that kind of creativity. I don’t think I’d ever put in trophies or anything to instigate a particularly strange play style though.”

He also took the chance to comment on the Twitch streamer The_Happy_Hobbit, who completed the entire game in a livestream in four and a half hours, without taking a single hit. Apparently, Miyazaki isn’t convinced that it actually happened. “I don’t believe the player who says he completed the original Dark Souls without taking a hit — it would be amazing but I think it’s just an elaborate rumor!”

Yes, it has gotten to the point where the community is doing things with these games that even the developers have a hard time coming to terms with.

Dark Souls 3 launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in April.
