Dark Souls Remastered Switch Version Stress Test Will Occur Closer To Launch

So, Switch owners get to wait again.

Today, Bandai Namco announced that the Nintendo Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered (ironically, the first one announced, and the one that has been used in all of the marketing for the game so far) will release later than the other ones, coming in Summer (while the others will hit their previously announced May 25 release date).

Apparently, the delay will also affect the previously announced network test for the Switch version of the game—speaking on Twitter, the Dark Souls account confirmed that the Switch version server test will happen later than the others, closer to the Switch version’s release date. So, Switch owners may be in for a wait for getting their first taste of portable Dark Souls.

This does make me feel (though this is only speculation) that the problems that led to the Switch version’s delay might have to do with network functionality. Which sucks, but given Nintendo’s inadequacies in that area, would not necessarily surprise me.
