Dead Space Writer’s New Game Will Be Revealed at the PS5 Event

Antony Johnston – who co-wrote the first Dead Space – is teasing an imminent announcement of a new project he's been working on.

The PS5 games showcase promises to be a packed event, with the hour-long show said to be revealing several games for the PS5. One of these was recently teased by British author Antony Johnston on Twitter, who was the co-writer of the first Dead Space game.

Johnston mentioned that he’s been working on a “big” video game for nearly two years, and then said to keep an eye on the PS5 games showcase, which Sony recently confirmed will be airing this Thursday following its earlier delay.

Before you get your hopes up, the chances of this being a new Dead Space are slim to none. Johnston has also been involved with a few other games, including the likes of Binary Domain, ZombiU, and Shadow of Mordor– there’s a possibility that this new announcement is related to one of those. Then again, it may very well be something completely new and different.

While we don’t know much yet about what games will be revealed at the PS5 games showcase, there’s been plenty of rumours swirling around. Reports about Bloodborne remaster and Demon’s Souls remake have been running rampant, as have leaks about a new Silent Hill game. Meanwhile, there’s also been some speculation about a new Gran Turismo title.

Either way, we should find out soon enough how true all these reports are. The event will go live tomorrow, June 11, at 1 PM Pacific Time. Sony have previously said that it’s going to be as exciting as an E3 event, so stay tuned for all the updates.
