Konami’s survival horror franchise, Silent Hills, has been grabbing quite a few headlines over the last couple of months. Rumours have claimed that thanks to a partnership between them and Sony, a revival of the franchise developed by SIE Japan – and led by series creator Keiichiro Toyama – is in the works as a PS5 exclusive. And though Konami themselves have denied the validity of these leaks, the rumours have kept popping up, with the most recent one suggesting that a reveal of the game could be imminent.

Over on Twitter, prolific leaker AestheticGamer (or DuskGolem) has said that the Silent Hill game is probably going to be revealed during the upcoming PS5 games showcase on July 4, before adding that if that does not happen, the latest it does get revealed will be August. He adds that the development team is excited to reveal the game and that it’s in a playable state, so the former is likelier, though given that it’s not a launch title for the PS5, there is a chance that it gets announced at a later date.

In a follow-up tweet, he also talks about fellow survival horror franchise Resident Evil. According to AestheticGamer, the date for when Resident Evil 8 – which has also been strongly rumoured and leaked these past few months – is revealed is much more nebulous right now.

The game was allegedly going to be revealed at E3 2020 before the show was cancelled. As it stands right now, according to AestheticGamer, the latest it’ll be announced is August, similar to Silent Hill, though he suspects that it will get announced some time in June. It’s worth noting that Capcom have a Resident Evil announcement scheduled for June 10, so it might be worth keeping an eye out for that.

Of course, this is all unverified information for now, so take it with a grain of salt- especially anything to do with Silent Hill, given Konami’s recent track record. Either way, with announcements for new games likely heating up over the coming weeks, it won’t be long before we know for sure one way or another just how much truth there is to these reports. Stay tuned for all the updates.
