Resident Evil 2021 Allegedly Is A Cross-gen Resident Evil 8, Was Originally Revelations 3 – Rumor

Look man, I haven't even finished Resident Evil 3, yet.

If you’re anything like me, you’re doing your best to enjoy and finish the recently released Resident Evil 3 in these trying times. The latest game in the franchise just released officially today, but dammed if the rumor mill isn’t already churning on the next 2021 entry. I have no idea how accurate some of this is going to be, but it is some juicy stuff.

Well known leaker and insider AestheticGamer (known as Dusk Golem in some circles) has been teasing information about the 2021 entry in the series, and now seems to have finally given the big (alleged) reveal. According to him, the next title will actually be Resident Evil 8 and cross-gen. While that may seem like quite the surprise, he said this game was originally being developed as Revelations 3. Allegedly, it tested so well that Capcom refitted the game into Resident Evil 8.

This game will be something of a departure, and could follow Ethan from Resident Evil 7 (though he’s not clear if that’s still the case). He claims there will be a lot of insanity, cultism and hallucinations, something fans may not take to right off the bat. I’m not too sure how that is much of a departure from this series, but that’s what the man says.

If you haven’t been following, this has actually been a bit of a back and forth of leaks of the alleged content of Resident Evil 8 that includes werewolves and witches and all kinds of spooky things. AestheticGamer claims we’ll find out about this game soon, though not from him. It’s unclear if he means someone else will be leaking this information or if an official reveal is coming. Of course, in the end, take all of this with a big grain of salt. While AestheticGamer has been pretty accurate in the past in regards to plans for the series, he has gotten his share of information wrong as well. We should see soon if there’s any warrant to all this.
