A recent update from PlayStation UK’s official Twitter confirms that fans will have to pay £5 to upgrade from the PS4 version of Death Stranding Director’s Cut to the PS5. This comes ahead of the game’s release, and the upgrade, of course, will also be available on September 24.
The PS5 version of Death Stranding Director’s Cut will include PS5-centric features such as DualSense support with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers being implemented. This is in addition to the general visual upgrades fans can expect from more powerful hardware.
£5 is certainly better than $10, on paper at least, though it’s likely probably due to exchange rates more than anything else. It’ll be interesting to see if this is the upgrade pricing model Sony adopts for upcoming first party titles such as God of War: Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West as well. The latter’s upgrade options were previously locked behind pricier ultimate edition, which was retracted following fan backlash for the decision.
