Death Stranding Gets A Massive 7 Minute Long Video At The Game Awards

That was a tour de force.

Well, that was something. Hideo Kojima is a genius, this has never once been in doubt. However, until now, his genius has always been constrained. No more- Kojima is well and truly unbridled now, and we get to see it with Death Stranding, the first game he is making since his acrimonious split with Konami.

We got to see it in depth tonight at The Game Awards, in a seven minute long video. There wasn’t any gameplay- but the themes that the game will be tackling were outlined in their clearest form yet, and the striking Lovecraftian visual imagery was a sight to behold.

It is clear that this game is going to tackle the heady topic of genesis and the meaning of life- and it will do so with some truly disturbing meditations on the topic. It looks great- but when will we see gameplay footage, Kojima? For now, all we know is that the game is due to come exclusively on the PS4 at some point.
