We know lot more about Death Stranding now than we have since it was first announced, and it’s looking like it’s going to be very unique experience. Something that many have picked up on with its recent gameplay blowout is the game’s atmosphere. While some would call it an empty open world, others are calling it a game that is simultaneously beautiful and lonely.
That, in fact, is exactly how Hideo Kojima describes it as well. Recently, taking to Twitter, Kojima said that Death Stranding will make you “feel very lonely.” He describes it as a game with some beautiful environments – which we can all agree with – but environments that are also “relentlessly tough”.
One of the things he mentions specifically is the supernatural beings called BTs, which he describes as “dark and scary”, and how Sam’s Private Room (which we saw quite bit of recently) acts as a reprieve from that constant tension. In a separate tweet, Kojima also talked a bit more about BTs, and how players can either choose to sneak past them, or find a longer way around, and how you’ll have to gear up appropriately for both those situations. Take a look below.
Death Stranding is out on November 8, exclusively for the PS4.
