Hideo Kojima’s upcoming Death Stranding is a long ways off from release yet. We all know that. We know it’s probably going to be at least a year – probably even more – before we get to play the game in its final form. But that hasn’t stopped us all from gushing over it and looking forward to it with feverish anticipation. And with each piece of information that Kojima sends our way, out anticipation grows more. We’ve taken another small step forward today.
Hideo Kojima recently took to Twitter and revealed that he witness play tests for Death Stranding today, and that he was pleased with what he say. “I will have a good sleep tonight,” he went on to say. That’s obviously encouraging news. It doesn’t tell us anything about the game or even how far along it is in its development, but it’s good to hear that there’s notable progress.
It was also announced on Twitter that developers from both Guerrilla Games and Kojima Productions will be at SIGGRAPH 2017, where the two parties will be sharing new information about the Decima Engine – which was used for the development of Guerrilla’s Horizon: Zero Dawn and is also being used for Death Stranding – and what the two developers are doing with the engine.
