Deep Down To Appear At TGS, Rebranded As Shinsekai: Into the Depths – Rumour

Could Capcom's half-dead-half-alive title finally be making a comeback?

There’s development hell, and there’s whatever state Capcom’s Deep Down has been in for what feels like forever. First announced all the way back in 2013 as a PS4 exclusive, the dungeon crawler looked like an absolutely beautiful title that immediately shot up in many lists for the most highly anticipated upcoming games. Six years later, we’re still waiting for the game to come out.

Capcom said a couple of years after the game was announced that they hadn’t cancelled it and were still working on it, while after couple more years of silence, they then renewed that trademark back in 2017. Now, after a couple more years of silence yet again, it’s looking like there’s a chance we might see something of the game soon.

Capcom have filed a trademark in Europe for something called Shinsekai: Into the Depths– and speculation suggests that this could be a new lease of life for Deep Down. The “Into the Depths” subtitle makes those dots very easy to connect- but it’s worth noting that there’s no official word on any of it right now, and there’s a chance that this ends up being something else entirely.

With Tokyo Game Show taking place in September though, there’s also the chance we hear about this very soon. Either way, stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated.
