Love it or hate it, Bungie’s Destiny 2 has done fairly well for itself. The developer revealed that 1.2 million players were online concurrently on September 9th. At UK retail, Destiny 2 also became the biggest launch of 2017 thus far but sales are down almost 58 percent from the first game as per Gfk Chart Track.
There are several reasons for this, namely that digital figures are not including and Destiny 2 only released on Xbox One and PS4. The first game arrived on previous gen consoles like PS3 and Xbox 360 along with PS4 and Xbox One. However, first week sales for the current gen platforms were in fact higher for Destiny 1. It’s worth noting that 58 percent of Destiny 2’s sales were on the PS4.
In other UK chart news, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy fell to second place, Forza Horizon 3 rose up from 10th to third place thanks recent Xbox One S bundles, Grand Theft Auto 5 remains in fourth and Fallout 4 has risen up to fifth. Crash Bandicoot: N Sane Trilogy, F1 2017, Dishonored 2, DOOM and Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle rounded out the rest of the charts.
