It appears that Bungie has listened to your thoughts and complaints and have answered them sooner than we thought. Those of you that complained of being unable to voice chat with other players can now rest easy, because community manager David “Deej” Dague announced that voice chat with other people will go into beta phase next week.
The much detailed new feature on Bungie.net states that the player can toggle the feature either manually or set it to activate normally. The feature to switch between fireteam chat and public chat whenever you want will also be available. However it is not clear whether the feature will be usable in PvP.
The other thing mentioned in the feature states that Iron Banner is ” poised for a return to the Tower”. However no estimate on when Iron Banner 2.0 which features a competitive multiplayer mode would be released. Dague stated that “We promise that you might get twenty-four hours advance notice before the resumption of hostilities. Maybe,”
The new version of the Iron Banner is quite different from the previous version as stated below:
Power. Does. Matter!
Only players Level 20 and above can lead a Fireteam
Players below Level 20 can accompany more powerful friends
Players within 3 Levels can be competitive with each other
Your DEFENSE rating affects how you take damage
– Wear your best (highest rated) armor
– Players out of your league will seem like a Boss
Your ATTACK rating affects how you inflict damage
– Equip your best (highest rated) weapons
– Lower-level players wielding fully-upgraded weapons should still be considered a very credible threat!
