Earlier today we reported that Kojima is finally free from the shackles of Konami and is now the owner of a new games studio aptly titled Kojima Productions. They are currently working on a new game that will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and may possibly come to the PC platform given that the new title is a “console” exclusive. Given how the term “console” exclusive has been thrown around this generation, there is a good chance that the game will hit Steam/PC platform in the future. But the game will possibly never come to the Xbox One given that Sony is “helping” out with the development process.
Hundreds of thousands of fans have reacted to the new studio’s announcement but they are not alone. Several developers, executives and industry people have reacted too. Let us take a look at some of them.
Santana Mishra, Developer of Assault Android Cactus, on Kojima developing exclusively for one console:
Always odd seeing folks angry about exclusive games, must be such a relief for the dev to be able to focus entirely on the game & platform.

People rarely seem to make the connection that exclusive games are easier to make and thus often better or more unique than other games.

Kinda loving the way Sony are treating developers these days, real class act.

@wilflare Just the stuff with Kojima, Suzuki, and Schafer for big hitters, and their general incredible support for indies.

I use Sony as an all encompassing term cos it's easy to forget that a company is just people, much love to everyone involved in this stuff.

So who made this deal between Sony and Kojima possible? Of course, there were a number of people involved but the deal would have never happened without Brad Douglas, PlayStation’s third party executive and Ken-ichiro Imaizumi, former Konami producer and now a part of Kojima’s latest venture.
It has been an honor to work with Andy and @Kojima_Hideo on this. This is one of the most exciting days of my career https://t.co/YdcGZMMKMQ

Besides the awesome logo, I am most interested in what engine the new KojiPro goes with. Starting from scratch is hard. See: Respawn.

And finally, Microsoft’s Larry Hryb. Must say, he is a true professional despite Sony getting hold of the biggest fish this console generation.

Now let us hope that Kojima does not take 7 years to actually make the game!
