Blizzard Entertainment could revisit its decision to only have Seasons on the PC version of Diablo 3, effectively bringing it to the PS4 and Xbox One. For Diablo 3 players, Seasons allows a new way to experience the game while offering unique drops and leaderboards.
Speaking to IGN, senior game producer Rob Foote said that with “the way [consoles are] set up,” some features end up inherently different. For instance, leaderboards may work differently while co-op play is better on consoles. However, at the end of the day, it isn’t all about the leaderboards when it comes to Seasons.
“Sometimes Seasons aren’t really about the leaderboard, but having a fresh start, experiencing the game again and feeling like you’re part of a larger community than yourself where the excitement around Diablo is there. So I think maybe that’s something we need to re-evaluate again. We’ll probably go back and revisit that decision.”
Blizzard is also working on patch 2.3.0 for Diablo 3 which adds a new zone, better crafting mechanics and a new feature that allows players to extract and equip different perks from Legendaries.
