Diablo 4 was announced at this year’s BlizzCon and while it won’t be out for a long time (and we do mean long time), we’re still getting a basic idea of what the game will be like. And now we have an idea of what the game’s DLC and post-launch plans will be, and it’s sure to be a double-edged sword for some people.
In talking with Twitch user Quin69, Joe Shely, Lead Designer of Diablo 4, confirmed that the game will have expansions. That’s sure to excite people, but it’s not unexpected either since all the Diablo games have gotten expansions. He also mentioned you could get cosmetics, and when pressed on if that meant you could obtain it via microtransactions he said yes. Shely was very careful with his wording there, saying it was still early however. But cosmetics as microtransactions also isn’t too unexpected in today’s industry. At least the auction house isn’t coming back, at least for now.
Diablo 4 has been announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game is aiming for cross-play support, and if you’re curious about how the game changed during development, read through here.
