Arkane Studios’ Dishonored 2 will be available worldwide today for Xbox One, PS4 and PC but those who preordered the game would receive it on November 10th, allowing them to access the campaign one day earlier.
As it turns out, this exposed the PC version’s issues fairly quickly. As per the game’s subreddit, Steam and the Bethesda forums, Dishonored 2 is facing flickering black screens when running in full screen and performance drops when you Alt-Tab out of the game.
The developer is currently working on all issues and even provided a few possible workarounds. It told users to avoid Alt-Tab when playing the game. If Alt-Tabing causes performance to drop, then make sure you relaunch the game. Also avoid having any programs running in the background while the game is running.
Other performance issues can be subverted by lowering the resolution. For instance, 1440p resolution is best for high-end GPUs like GTX 1070/1080. V-Sync should be kept on to avoid framerate changes and adaptive resolution can be used (betwen 50 to 75 percent) if framerates below 30 FPS are being experienced.
