Divinity: Original Sin 2 Passes 650,000 Owners on Steam

SteamSpy numbers indicate that the sequel is doing pretty well.

Larian Studios’ Divinity: Original Sin 2 has been doing pretty good since it launched out of Early Access on September 14th. The computer RPG was touted as selling almost 500,000 copies within the first few days of launch, beating out the time it took Divinity: Original Sin to achieve the same goal.

On checking SteamSpy today however, it seems that Divinity: Original Sin 2 is already at over 650,000 copies sold. This doesn’t even factor in copies sold on GOG. When you consider that it took three months for its predecessor to hit 500,000 units then it’s pretty awesome.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 has received tons of critical acclaim since launch and is actually the highest rated game of the year behind The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Critics appreciated the range of choice, the attention to detail in the world and the great writing as standout qualities. You can check out our review of the game here for more information and whether it’s worth your time.
