Dune: Spice Wars, Shiro Games’ 4X strategy take on the Dune franchise, has been doing well since launching for Steam Early Access. There’s still more to come, as revealed in the new roadmap. The first major update is multiplayer which releases this Summer and offers co-op and free-for-all modes for up to four players.
Summer also marks the arrival of a new victory condition and faction, though the latter remains a mystery. The Air and Sand update comprises ships and spaceports along with more advanced units and their buildings. Heroes of Dune allows councilors to act as special agents or units that can fight and have their own unique abilities, making them far more useful than now.
The release windows for Air and Sand and Heroes of Dune are still to be announced. Note that the roadmap isn’t exhaustive and that each update will bring “improvements across the board” along with new features. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
