Elden Ring – Recently Leaked Gameplay Clip Confirmed Fake

The six second clip was taken from an existing 3D environment showcase video.

Recently, a “leaked” gameplay clip for FromSoftware’s Elden Ring was doing the rounds, providing a brief look at an environment. Given how the last leaked trailer and how it suddenly appeared, this seemed like it could be legitimate. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.

As spotted by Reddit, the six second leaked clip is actually from 3D environment showcase video by freelance 3D/concept artist Jack Phan on ArtStation. Phan said that the work was “heavily inspired” by the Dark Souls series. The full video can be seen below via the artist’s official YouTube channel.

Phan also said that he was “flattered that someone cut this up and made this as a part of the Elden Ring’s fake leak.” Though sorry to “break people’s hopes,” he further confirmed that the leak was not real.

In the meantime, Elden Ring is rumored to be revealed at E3 2021 especially with Bandai Namco confirmed to be attending. Kadokawa Corporation, FromSoftware’s parent company, noted in its recent financial report that it will release new titles in the next fiscal year. This could mean Elden Ring launches sometime after April 1st 2022 and before March 31st 2023. As always, however, we’ll need to wait for more details.
