Embracer Group Wants To Continue Its Spree Of Acquisitions In 2022

Embracer Group's latest earnings report reveals that the company is planning to maintain a blistering pace of acquisitions in 2022.

Embracer Group, the parent company of THQ Nordic, Deep Silver, and Koch Media, has had a pretty great year when it comes to acquisitions. 2021 saw Embracer Group acquire a whopping total of 37 studios, which include. but are not limited to, Gearbox Entertainment, 3D Realms, and Flying Wild Hog, among others.

The conglomerate of studios has a lot going on already, and is showing no signs of stopping down. Embracer Group wants to continue the pace of acquisitions moving forward into next year, as revealed in the company’s latest earnings report

“In the past 12 months, we have made 37 acquisitions and expect to do a similar amount of transactions over the coming 12 months. We currently have a large range of active processes and dialogues, including a good number of signed exclusive term sheets,” says the report.

Embracer Group currently owns over 250 IPs and 86 development studios, all of which are working on, of course, lots of games. Koch Media also established a new publishing label called Prime Matter earlier this year, and a fair number of games are in the works under the banner, including the likes of Gungrave GORE, Payday 3, and Scars Above
