Evolve Big Alpha Delayed for PS4 Following 2.00 Firmware Update

Xbox One and PC still playable.

Turtle Rock Studios’ Evolve alpha is live and it’s awesome when one can play it. Then again, if you’re on the PS4, you may have noticed a complete lack of alpha access. Publisher 2K Games has revealed that it’s been delayed following network difficulties.

Speaking to GameSpot, a 2K Games representative stated that, “Following the recent PS4 2.00 firmware update, we are experiencing difficulties with the Evolve Big Alpha on PlayStation 4. As a result, the test on PlayStation 4 is postponed. PlayStation and 2K are working together on a resolution. Evolve’s closed alpha test is still playable on Xbox One and PC.”

Though the alpha shows the game in a very playable state, with minimal bugs (on PC at least) it still falls victim to the usual round of server disconnects. Still, it’s better than not being able to play the game at all. Stay tuned for more information from 2K Games on when the alpha will be available on PS4.
