Evolves Receives 22 Minutes of Single Player Gameplay Footage

Evolve actually does offer single player gameplay, fancy that.

The Beta of Evolve was excellent, it really was, but it left a lot to be lusted after for players that prefer a more single player focused experience. The game was actually promoted primarily as an always online shooter that focused entirely on PvP, Hunters vs Monster.

But Evolve does in fact have a single player component that can be played entirely in offline mode. The offline single player portion of the game pits the player against an AI controlled opponent or opponents. In the video above you can see a single monster fight against an entirely AI controlled team of hunters and then a single player working alongside an AI controlled team to take down the monster. The catch being that you can hot-swap (instantly change) your class mid-combat in offline mode to give you some flexibility in your approach in your play style.

Evolve has received a fair bit of heat recently regarding its somewhat sketchy DLC and pre-order practices that would, at a glance, give an unreasonable advantage to players that pre-order the game as well as providing them with a more complete build of the game. But the single player component at least allows for enjoyment to be found without feeling crippled for not pre-ordering.
