Fairgame$ is Getting an Extraction Shooter Mode – Rumor

Reportedly similar to Marathon, the mode involves players obtaining money, breaking into a vault, and then extracting the cargo.

While Haven Studios’ multiplayer heist shooter Fairgame$ remains missing after its 2023 announcement, some potential new details have emerged from Insider Gaming. According to documents received by Tom Henderson, there will allegedly be a dedicated extraction shooter mode.

Reportedly called Cargo Heist, it involves finding a vault code to open a safe. You then use the cash inside to upgrade your skills. By using a drill, you can breach a vault for its valuable cargo and then head to the Extraction Site. Much like Marathon, there’s a device that requires initiating exfil, and if you miss it, another exit must be located.

It seems you can also deal with rival crews, setting up ambushes at the vault (though it’s unknown if you can take their cash and loot). If one didn’t know better, this would seem like the main gameplay loop instead of an optional mode. Then again, previous rumors claimed it features elements from The Division and Fortnite, so who knows how much it’s changed during development.

When is Fairgame$ releasing? Internally, it’s reportedly planned for this year with Henderson claiming another playtest is happening this weekend. Time will tell if that actually happens, especially since the buzz around the title, following studio founder Jade Raymond’s departure, isn’t exactly the best.
