In a new video focused on customization, crafting and modding in Fallout 4, executive producer Todd Howard provided somewhat of a release period for the game’s mod tools.
Howard explained that though they will be out in “early 2016”, the overall timetable was described as “fuzzy”.
“We’re doing it [mods] on the PC in a similar manner to what we did with Skyrim. You’ll have all the PC mods, but what’s really exciting is we are finally bringing it to console.”
The mod tools for Fallout 4 will be extensive, allowing players to modify the game’s code and create their own quests, graphical overhauls and much more. Howard also stated that, “Once we get the creation kit out on PC, it’s then going to come to Xbox One.” It will be interesting to see what degree of freedom console players will have, if any, when it comes to creating their own mods.
Fallout 4 will be out on November 10th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
