Far Cry 4 Has Day/Night Cycle, No Rain, Himalayas Restricted to “Specific Missions”

Creative director Alex Hutchinson says there will be snow and fog though.

So Alex Hutchinson, the Creative Director at Ubisoft Montreal that fills the roles of Designer, Writer, and to a considerably less important extent, former ice dancing champion recently took to Twitter to answer some important questions from the gaming community that would generally have been announced post launch or through a carefully constructed PR statement.

One person tweeted him a question asking about the games day/night system and whether or not the game had weather effects. He responded, “There is indeed a day/night system, but it doesn’t rain. Other weather like fog and snow can be found though…”

Up next, another Twitter user asked if the Himalayas would be accesible at any time whilst free roaming in the open world, to which Alex responded, “Restricted to specific missions!”

So that’s that! No open world mountain range and no rain but other weather effects. At the end of the day, it’s the core gameplay mechanics that make or break the game. So cross you fingers for a smash hit!
