If it’s a Ubisoft game, it’s going to sell a lot. And if it’s a flagship Ubisoft property, then all bets on commercial records are off. Far Cry 5 is the latest game in Ubisoft’s long running globe trotting action adventure franchise, and it looks like it continues the publisher’s penchant for commercial success.
According to Steam Spy, just the Steam version of Far Cry 5 has sold 340,000 copies in just three days—the incredible thing, of course, being that these sales are just for the Steam version (so don’t count, for example, sales via Uplay, and definitely not sales on Xbox or PlayStation).
So it looks like Far Cry 5 is set to do fantastically well, especially if this is indicative of how it is performing on other channels (like retail and consoles) as well—I can’t wait to see its performance on the UK and NPD charts, at the very least. Far Cry 5 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
