We already know that Far Cry 5 has seemingly broken a whole lot of records in the short time that it has been out—Ubisoft already shared an update on its sales performance yesterday, where they confirmed that it had sold more than double what Far Cry 4 sold when it came out in 2014, and that it was Ubisoft’s second biggest launch ever.
What the company did not share, curiously enough, were specific sales numbers. However, that has changed thanks to an analysis published by the Jefferies Group. The analysis estimates that 5 million copies of the game were sold in the first week. For comparison, Far Cry 4 sold 8 million copies over its first year, so Far Cry 5 is already more than halfway there in literally just a week.
Which makes sense, too—the game is great, arguably the best title in the series so far. Far Cry 5 is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
