Far Cry Primal represents something new for the series- instead of a new game set in a new exotic location somewhere around the world, it is a brand new game in the series that takes players on a journey across time. Primal is set in the Stone Age, in the murky depths of human prehistory, when early tribes co-existed with beasts such as the woolly mammoth and the saber toothed cat.
Making a game set in the Stone Age was, undoubtedly, a big challenge for Ubisoft- the publisher went to excruciating lengths to ensure that the game came off as authentic, including developing an all new language (complete with multiple dialects, accents, and variations!) which would be spoken by the tribes in the game. Things like these are why Far Cry games always feel more authentic and organic than Ubisoft’s other titles.
Far Cry Primal will be out on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on February 23; the PC version launches March 1.
