When Far Cry Primal was first announced, many thought it would be a scaled down adventure like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Though it doesn’t have any multiplayer like Far Cry 4, creative director Maxime Béland has clarified that in terms of world size and gameplay length, this is indeed a true follow-up to Far Cry 4.
Speaking to GameSpot, Béland said, “This is the next Far Cry. The world is as big as Far Cry 4. It’s got an immense story that you do at your own pace, there’s side missions, there’s bonfires. It’s a Far Cry game.
“I think it’s going to be the equivalent of Far Cry 4. If you decide to all the side stuff, then the gameplay hours go really high. I think our single-player story, if you’re rushing through, will be similar to Far Cry 4. The world is as big as Far Cry 4, too.”
Far Cry Primal will be out on February 23rd 2016 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Check out the first gameplay footage for the same here.
