Microsoft had announced that those who pre-ordered the Xbox One in Europe would be receiving a free copy of FIFA 14 via digital download. Given the popularity of the franchise in the UK (and the continent, for that matter), it seemed like an incredibly smart move.
However, Social Marketing Manager for Xbox EMEA Graeme Boyd took to Twitter to clarify few things: Even though the lovable Xbox Twitter account stated that FIFA 14 would be free with all pre-orders, it will actually only be available with Day One Editions of the console.
@brownmurder That's incorrect. Day One Editions only. I've let the team on that Twitter account know.

So if you pre-ordered the console already and didn’t pre-order the Day One Edition, then you won’t be getting FIFA 14 for free. Hilariously, we wonder how Microsoft will handle this latest PR snafu. FIFA 14 will be releasing on September 24th in North America and on September 26th in Europe for numerous consoles such as the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PC and more, with Xbox One and PS4 releases due in November.
