Final Fantasy 14 – New Details Revealed on Housing Lottery System and Land Sales

Square Enix has shared more details regarding the upcoming lottery system for housing and land sales in their MMORPG Final Fantasy 14.

Buying a house or a plot of land in Final Fantasy 14 has always been a task in and of itself, and that is putting it mildly. With the game receiving a new housing district when the upcoming patch 6.1 drops, it won’t be surprising to see players rushing in for the new plots.

As such, Square Enix is trying to minimize some of those issues by introducing a new housing lottery system, and has revealed new details on how that will work. The new lottery system aims to give all players a fair chance of getting a plot of land, according to the developers. The system operates around a nine-day cycle, where players will get five days to submit their necessary lottery entries through a placard next to a plot they are interested to get, with the result disclosed within the next four days.

For players to take part in the process, they will have to pay 3 million Gil upfront, and a class of lv 50 or above with the rank of Second Lieutenant or above in any of the Grand Companies will be required. In case a player with a Free Company rep character wants to take part, their FC has to be rank 6 or above, have a minimum of four characters who should’ve been in the FC for at least 30 days.

On the off chance that a player doesn’t get the housing through the lottery, they’ll receive a full refund of the 3 million Gil that they paid within 90 days.

Final Fantasy 14 is currently available to play on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
