Final Fantasy 15 has a lot riding on it- it is going to be the franchise’s litmus test, as we finally know whether or not the series is still relevant in a world that seems to have largely moved on to western console games, especially in light of the disappointing foot put forward by Final Fantasy with the Final Fantasy 13 games last generation.
So this is a game that needs to appeal to people. It is a game that needs to sell. And happily, according to a survey conducted by Famitsu in Japan (via DualShockers), which had 1050 respondents, it appears as though a lot of people intend to do just that. 93.3% of the survey’s respondents allegedly intend to purchase Final Fantasy 15.
Of course, there are a few caveats here- Famitsu is a magazine that caters to the (increasingly shrinking) core base in Japan, so it is not necessarily representative of the game’s projected performance in the larger market. Especially since the game isn’t tracking all that well with pre-orders in the nation yet.
Let’s hope that it pulls through, though. We could all do with a strong Final Fantasy once again.
