Final Fantasy XV is a wonderful game, there’s no question about it, but if there’s one aspect of the game not a lot of fans cared for, it was the driving. While the Regalia itself is an awesome vehicle, the game’s driving mechanics are stiff and awakward, to say the least, and it only allows players to drive the vehicle on the roads in the game.
Recently, however, Final Fantasy XV’s director Hajime Tabata released a prototype video for the game, showing the Regalia modded to be able to be driven off-road, allowing players more freedom in traversal and exploration.
It’s just a test build, though (there’s even a few apparent glitches), and it’s not confirmation of the feature, but it’s something. Hopefully, Square Enix will be releasing a significant patch for the game with this included soon enough.
Tabata also announced that the Final Fantasy XV Platinum Demo will be discontinued starting March 31.
