Final Fantasy 15 Dev: “We’re Starting To Operate Like A MMO”

In terms of how much they are interacting with their community, that is.

Final Fantasy 15 is increasingly looking like a return to form for the of late beleaguered franchise. Square Enix seems to be doing everything right with the game, from how it was originally conceived, to taking player feedback into account from the early demo for the game that they released alongside Final Fantasy Type 0 HD.

During the latest Active Time Event broadcast, Final Fantasy XV Game Director Hajime Tabata and Marketing Division Manager Akio Ofuji talked about how they are taking player feedback into account as they proceed with the development of the title, stating that the team has almost started to approach the development of the game “like that of an MMO,” in terms of how much of an active, ongoing dialog they are sharing with the community and fans.

Personally, while I think it is admirable to keep fan feedback in mind, I also hope that Square Enix does not do so at the cost of its artistic vision and integrity- it has a vision and a story that it wants to tell, and I think that it should be allowed to tell it.

Final Fantasy XV will launch on PS4 and Xbox One some time next year (allegedly).
