Final Fantasy 15 DLC Will Have Three New Episodes And A ‘Completely New’ Expansion

Of course, first the game needs to release.

Final Fantasy 15 promises to be a mammoth open world RPG, with potentially hundreds of hours of gameplay- but when you get done with it, that won’t be all that there is to it, either. It looks like Square Enix plan to keep players returning to the game and its world, via some rather extensive post launch DLC.

The DLC, which will be a part of the game’s Season Pass (though naturally, it can also be purchased separately and piecemeal) will include, among other things, aesthetic items and booster packs, as well as three new story episodes, each following one of Noctis’ companions- Episode Gladio, Episode Ignis, and Episode Prompto.

The game will also have an ‘Expansion Pack,’ which will apparently provide players with ‘a completely new Final Fantasy 15,’ though we don’t have much to go by apart from that. Some wording in Square Enix Japan’s press releases, as well as PSN Store listings for the DLC in Japan, seem to indicate that this expansion may have online multiplayer of some sort, however. Final Fantasy 15 was originally set to launch worldwide on September 30 on Xbox One and PS4- however, recent, increasingly well substantiated rumors are now indicating that the release date will be delayed to November 29.
