As we were promised, Final Fantasy 15 did indeed have a presence at Comic Fiesta. Also as we were forewarned, there wasn’t much that was new that was revealed for the game, though we did get some neat new tidbits on the game’s development.
For instance, consider the fact that a staggering 10,000 new unique pieces of art were developed just for the game- which makes sense if you consider just how big this game is, how long it has been in development, and how often it has been started over from scratch, but still. That’s a lot. It fits in with Square Enix’s philosophy for this game’s development, however, where they want beautiful, immersive graphics that also remain grounded in reality, in spite of their obviously fantastical depiction.
You can watch the whole Comic Fiesta presentation for yourself to see what all Square Enix talked about. It’s encouraging to hear actual details on how the game is coming along, rather than speculation over whether it will be changing directors and starting from scratch again.
Final Fantasy 15 is due out some time in 2016 for PS4 and Xbox One.
