Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis Receives New Gameplay Trailer, Closed Beta Delayed to Summer 2023

The mobile RPG's closed beta test was previously scheduled for 2022, but has now been pushed back to summer 2023.

The Final Fantasy 7 universe has flared back to life in recent years, and with Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion launching soon and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming next Winter, there’s plenty for fans to look forward to. Of course, another project that the company has in the works is Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisisa mobile RPG that combines and recreates all stories in the FF7 universe, and a new trailer for it has now been released.

Several familiar scenes from past games are shown, such as Zack taking on Ifrit in Crisis Core and the boss battle against Airbuster in the original Final Fantasy 7, and, of course, the Chocobo Farm. Meanwhile, several characters are shown in locations where you wouldn’t expect to see them- like Aerith inside of a Mako Reactor. Square Enix has previously confirmed that the game will allow players to make up “dream teams” with characters from throughout the FF7 games in various story chapters. Check out the trailer below.

Square Enix has also confirmed that the mobile RPG’s closed beta has been delayed. Previously scheduled for sometime in 2022, it has now been pushed back to summer 2023.

Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis is in development for iOS and Android.
