Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has received new gameplay and details thanks to various hands-on impressions over the past few days. However, the development team hosted a stage event at Tokyo Game Show 2023 to show off even more, from the Grasslands and its mini-games to more combat. You can also check out more gameplay courtesy of Famitsu below.
The Grasslands are showcased at 28:59 onwards in the stream, with a trailer highlighting all the different mini-games at 1:04:08. The latter include the card game, Queen’s Blood, and the Chocobo Ranch, which is where Chocobo can be customized. A rhythm game with the piano is also seen, though this appears separate from the Grasslands.
Overall, the Grasslands are big, spanning about two kilometers and featuring lots to do. It further reinforces the game’s sheer amount of side content (doubling the main quest), the 100 hours of promised gameplay and how the world map is “one-to-one” with the original game.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launches on February 29th, 2024, for PS5. It will ship on two Blu-ray discs and require 150 GB of space.
