Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth – Update 1.020 is Live, Improves Frame Rate and Graphics Quality

The update also improves overall game stability and adds Sharp and Soft options to the display settings for Performance Mode.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has garnered plenty of acclaim but also faced criticism for its visual quality, particularly in Performance Mode. While it received patch before launch, a new update is live, offering even more improvements.

Alongside improving the frame rate, graphics quality and overall game stability, it also provides Sharp and Soft options in the display settings for Performance Mode. Other fixes are included for typos and omissions in some of the text. Bugs like enemies suddenly stopping their movement in battles or Red XIII’s Lunatic High and Watcher’s Spirit abilities getting cancelled have also been fixed.

There are also quality-of-life changes like the camera’s reverse setting now applying when gliding with a Chocobo and playing the sharpshooting mini-game. Fort Condor and Gears and Gambits have also received difficulty settings, so if you’re facing trouble clearing either, this should help.
