Final Fantasy 7 Remake Recreates Iconic Key Art for the Original Game

Cloud looks at the looming structure of the Mako reactor.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is headlining Square Enix’s lineup for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, where we’ll be getting our first look at some important characters in the game. To hype up the game’s presence at the show, Square Enix has taken to Twitter via the game’s official handle to share something that fans of the original game will surely appreciate.

What they’ve shared is new key art from the game, showing Cloud (with his trusty buster sword) looking at the looming figure of the Mako reactor in the distance (where we can expect to see some new stuff in the final game when it launches). Of course, it’s also a very familiar bit of artwork. As may of you will recognize, it’s a (much more detailed) recreation of the key art that was widely used (and still is) for Final Fantasy 7 when it first launched back in 1997. Take a look below.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is out on March 3, 2020 for the PS4.
