Final Fantasy 7 Remake got a patch on PlayStation 4 today. The update, version 1.02, does exactly one thing: adds the ability to transfer save data to the PS5 version of the game, which releases next week. That’s what the update does, and that is the only thing the update does.
The PS5 version of the game is called Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. The upgrade will include visual enhancements, two new display modes, and support for the DualSense controller. Users who already own the PS4 version of the game can upgrade to the PS5 version for free.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will launch alongside Episode INTERmission, DLC which features fan-favorite Materia-hunting ninja Yuffie. Episode INTERmission will only be available to those who upgrade to or purchase Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. It will come as DLC code in boxed copies.
