Fortnite Brings Battle Royale To Mobile With iOS Beta, Crossplay With Everything Except Xbox One

UPDATE: Xbox One crossplay will be supported, but not with PS4.

Update: Epic Games has confirmed that the Xbox One will indeed have crossplay with other platforms, except the PS4. You can read about it here.

Original story:

Epic Games might be pitching itself as the leader of Battle Royale titles with Fortnite, but they announced just recently that they will be bringing the game to the mobile arena with an iOS port, shortly followed by Android.

Interested players with an iOS device can sign up for an invite event on the official Fortnite website as of next Monday, which will let a select number of players in to enjoy what is essentially a closed beta. In addition, Epic is allowing Mobile players to enjoy cross play with PC, Mac, iOS, eventually Android, and PS4. The same platforms can also enjoy cross progression, letting you keep your levels from whichever platform you played on. Unfortunately, Xbox One was not mentioned as a platform.

Before signing up for the invites, know that you’ll need to have an iOS 11 device and an iPhone SE, iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2 or newer equivalent device. But should you meet that, and get in, you’ll also receive friend invite codes to get your squad into the game with you. Will you be checking out Fortnite: Battle Royale on mobile platforms?
