If there is one next gen that is actually next gen it has to Turn 10’s Forza Motorsport 5. It is one of the few next gen launch games that will be running at a golden standard of 1080P resolution and 60 frames per second.
In an interview with Edge, studio’s creative director Dan Greenawalt was asked about the team’s involvement with the Xbox One’s architecture.
“All of the features we wanted to do like cloud-based AI and using some of the other muscles Microsoft has, like big search, big data, cloud computing – that was something that I was very much saying was the future.
I was saying that we need to be able to have responsive game design and change the game on the fly, we need telemetry that allows us to make smarter decisions and evolve our games quickly – Chris [chief architect] knew we were trying to get 1080p, 60 frames per second, go for materials, shaders and imperfections and he’s able to translate that into bus speeds, so he was making very concrete recommendations,” he said to Edge.
Forza Motorsport 5 will be available along side the Xbox One this November.
