Forza Motorsport 6 May Use A New “Forzatech” Engine

Is a new engine really needed?

It’s beginning to look like Forza Motorsport 6 might be using a new engine that may well be revealed at E3 this June. It has come to light recently that Microsoft has “filed a trademark application for ForzaTech, which is Turn 10 Studios’ proprietary graphics and simulation engine for Forza.”

The trademark for Forzatech was filed this April 2nd, it is therefore likely to be put to use in the upcoming sports racer Forza Motorsport 6. Forza Motorsport 6 is going to be an Xbox One exclusive title and is not to be confused as a sequel to last year’s Forza Horizon 2.

Forza Motorsport 5 was no slouch in the visuals department and it’s that engine that was expanded upon for Forza Horizon 2. Given that included an impressive weather system and a beautiful day and night cycle, it’s hard to predict what a new engine would do for the series outside of better visuals.
