Gamescom 2022 Set for August 24-28, Returning as a Physical Event

"The experience on location will be combined with an extensive digital program," the event's organizers have announced.

E3 2022 has been cancelled, but other industry shows seem to be on track to returning to some sort of normalcy. It was recently announced that Tokyo Game Show will return this year as an in-person event, and now organizers Koelnmesse and the game association have announced the same for Gamescom 2022 as well.

Set for August 24-28, Gamescom 2022 will be an in-person event, held on location in Cologne, Germany, and “will be combined with an extensive digital program”, while “measures such as improved admission management, digital queue management, extra-wide aisles or limited ticket allotments will be implemented.”

This year’s event will also mark the beginning of the “Gamescom goes green” project, with the event’s organizers looking to “be climate-neutral over the medium and long term through the reduction and avoidance of CO2 emissions and in the short term through carbon offset.”

Stay tuned in the coming weeks and months for further details on what the full Gamescom 2022 schedule will be, and what new updates and announcements we can expect.
