With Gears of War 4 releasing on October 11th, Rod Fergusson, the Studio chief at The Coalition, had a few things to mention about the game, more specifically about the the game’s HDR mode. In an interview with Windows Central Fergusson talked about how the game’s visuals improve when you play it on an HDR compatible TV.
“It’s really hard, unfortunately it’s one of those technologies that you can’t show unless you actually have the technology. But having Gears of War 4 in HDR, with brighter brights, greater color differentiation, darker darks…And even materials, when you look at the armor for JD with and without HDR, it has a different sort of reflection to it, it feels more grounded and it’s really spectacular,” he stated.
Unfortunately, the PC version won’t be getting HDR support at launch. Gears of War 4 launches on October 11th 2016 on Xbox One and PC.
