Ghost Of Tsushima Promises Blood, Beheadings, And Buttocks In ESRB Summary

Sounds like you can expect a lot in the samurai open world game.

The world is abuzz right now about The Last of Us Part 2, and probably will be for quite some time, but we can’t forget that in under month’s time we’ll get what’s looking to be Sony’s final major first party title for the PS4- Ghost of Tsushima. The game has recently gone gold, and it looks like the ESRB has its rating and summary ready for it… and it’s pretty fun.

You can see the full summary through here. It describes all of the things you’d expect from a revenge story through feudal Japan- lots of blood, gore, beheadings, and the like, but then switches gears a bit abruptly to talk about the brief nudity you will see.

“Players use samurai swords, poisoned darts, and bows to battle enemies in melee-style combat. Some attacks result in dismemberment and/or decapitation of enemy soldiers, often accompanied by large blood-splatter effects. Players can also perform assassination kills (e.g., neck stabbing, sword impalement) to dispatch enemies quietly. Cutscenes depict additional acts of intense violence: a soldier lit on fire and beheaded; bound civilians lit on fire and burned at the stake; a decapitated man’s head held up towards the screen. The game also depicts a man’s exposed buttocks as he bathes in a hot spring.”

Mild nudity isn’t anything special in gaming nowadays, but you have to admit, it’s a bit funny going from talking about holding up a decapitated head to a man’s butt. But hey, it’s all about information of what to expect, so there you go.

Ghost of Tsushima is due out July 17th for PlayStation 4. For a lowdown on everything you need to know for the game, we have you covered through here.
