While the world is still abuzz about The Last of Us Part 2 (it did become the fastest-selling PS4 exclusive ever after all) we can’t forget it won’t be the final first party exclusive hitting the system this year. While Naughty Dogs’ acclaimed title may be one of the last heavy hitters before the PS5, the swansong is Ghost of Tsushima. Being a new IP and less established also makes it harder to figure out exactly where it’ll land on the acclaim scale. However, we’ll know soon before release.
We now know that the review embargo for the game will lift a few days before the official release as confirmed by OpenCritic. The game has gone gold already, too, so most likely it’s more than ready for primetime.
Ghost of Tsushima will release exclusively on PlayStation 4 July 17th, with the embargo lifting on July 14th at 7 am PT. You can expect reviews to start pouring in around then. We also have everything you need to know about the game before then, which you can check out through here.
