The countdown for Ghost of Yōtei’s launch continues with PlayStation releasing a new trailer about the open-world epic’s PS5 features. Adaptive triggers and haptic feedback support are nothing new in a first-party title, but it’s more about how they’re used.
For example, the triggers appear to provide resistance when aiming with the bow, and there’s a bit of shakiness in Atsu’s grip as she continually holds the shot. Haptic feedback lets you feel every weapon strike based on the direction they’re coming from, but also provides a satisfying pull when using, say, the kusarigama or a push upon a successful parry.
Then there’s the PS5’s solid-state drive, which comes into play beyond simply loading the game, as seen when transported to Atsu’s childhood. If all that (and 4K support) wasn’t enough, 3D audio dials up the immersion even further.
Ghost of Yōtei launches on October 2nd for PS5 and looks to succeed its predecessor in every possible way. Except for the budget, curiously, as its costs are apparently “very, very similar.” Head here for more details.
